According to Hindu principle earth is made up of five elements i.e. Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Ether.  Even small change in these elements will have invited the doomsday.

Science has already conquered natures and  taking environmental limitation. With help of science man tries to make change elemental conditions, due to this earth is trapped five times already. Therefore, there is need for taking responsibility that it will be under control.

History has given examples of human responsibility.The Indian Saint Literature also created the awareness  about nature the great saint ‘Tukaram’ said in his ‘Abhang’  that plant, trees, leave are our true relatives . The great king Shivaji had created act against deforesting in his empire. The sacrifice of Bishnoi community is known to the world.

It should not be forgotten  that manmade environment influences man as much as man influences environment.  It has been truly said, “man builds the city so that city shall be its sons”

Human being is aware of his duties and also knows that he have to accept these techniques some day, then why we should not start from today? It is not just for nature, you have to understand that we are the part of the nature . We are saving ourselves, our children, we are saving our future.

Daniel’s Theory of Plastic Decomposition:

Earlier in the 20^th century, we discovered a very useful thing named ‘plastic’ but due to our habits the plastic became a big source of environmental problem.  All over the world production of plastic is 500 billion Kilograms. For decomposition of plastic the period of one thousand years are required. The plastic is responsible to disturb the eco-system.

Daniel Berd, A 16 year old boy is working on this problem. He found that the soil has factor which help is decomposition of plastic but the soil have less amount of that factor and that’s why the plastic required a large time for decomposition.

Hence Daniel worked on this topic to find that factors. He does the various experiments on the soil and plastic mixture. He found 2 microbs which are responsible for decomposition of plastic. Names of that microb are ‘Sphinomonas’ & Pseudimonas’

According to the experiments carried by Daniel it have been observed that, the Sphinomonas are the main factors to decompose the plastic and pseudomonas are having supporting role in it, so he tried to increase the quality of both the microbs to increase the decomposition power of soil. Finally he achieved the 43% decomposition within six weeks.  And experiment get succeeded.

In this method the CO2 is released in very small quantity. So this method will prove very economical and useful to decompose the plastic naturally.  

In primary stage problem was small, but now it can generate large problem in future therefore it is responsibility that you must follow it.

-          Minimum use of IC Engines

-          Use of Clothing bags instead of plastic bags.

-          Use things made form waste material like plastic glass

-          Take a part in tee plantation activity.

-          There should be rules regarding sound and air pollution and they should be implemented strictly by government.

Youth is the strength of nation and awareness in youth is a sign of revolution. This revolution indicates growth of the nation as well as the world. So prevention and growth of nature is aim of our this ‘Green Planet Campaign’

We are students of college of engineering and by making this website we have attempted best we can to serve our knowledge for the survival and well being of mankind. And this is what we suppose to do as Engineers. We are very thankful of those who contributed us in this campaign as their responsibility and this section is dedicated to all of them.

Quick Tips for Going Eco-Friendly

If we revise our city structure as traditional gulf architecture to create low energy buildings with natural air conditioner from wind towers. Water will be provided through solar powered desalination plant. City will need a quarter of power required for similar size community while its water needs will be 60% lower.

Following points should be considered to maintain green nature:-

-          Electric kettles use less energy than stove: Kettles use less energy because now-a-days we get power saving kettles also. When we burn a stove CO₂ is emitted which is in small amount, but many small amount combine to form large amount and which is harmful for ozone layer. Though electricity is consumed we are saving ozone layer.

-          Use paper bags: Paper bags can be used instead of plastic bags. As plastic bags are not Eco Friendly their used should be reduced. Plastic bags are eaten by animals like cow and it is very harmful to them. Paper bags can be re-used if properly handled.

-          Plants can be used as gifts: As we know forestation is very necessary in today’s world we should give plants as gifts instead of cards or other one . This may help us to increase oxygen in atmosphere and money can also be saved.

-          Properly consume water: Water is one of the main requirements now and it should be properly used. For example, we on the tap while washing our face and the tap remains open for some period. During this period water can be saved by taking water in bucket and then taking it by hands to wash our face.  (We can also use sensor based fittings)

-          Use china clay: China clay can be used instead of wood for making statues as we can reduce deforestation.

Use of Bicycle

Large numbers of vehicles are used these days like cars, trucks etc. In urban areas, due to a serious problem of  traffic, air pollution and sound pollution takes place at very large extent. In order to have a healthy environment for all of us we should prefer using  bicycle. As we know that vehicle consumes fuel and release pollutants into the air.

Pollutants produced by vehicle exhausts include: Carbon Monoxide, Hydrocarbons, Nitrogen Oxides, particles, Volatile Organic Compounds and Sulfur Dioxide. 

Hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides reacts with sunlight and warm temperature to form groundlevel ozone. Ground-level ozone, a main ingredient in smog, can cause upper respiratory problems and lung damage.

This is all about air pollution through vehicles. When we think about sound pollution, it creates irritability and sometimes it may spoil the ears. Due to large use of vehicles traffic had also became an important problem. In order to avoid such problems use of bicycles must be increased. This will reduce air pollution, sound pollution and also traffic upto some extent and will create a healthy environment. This will be helpful to humans themselves. 

The best part of cycling is that it offers a healthy, flexible, inexpensive and environmentally friendly way to travel for people of all ages. 

Some of the other benefits areas follows.

Provide an excellent workout for the heart;

Almost halve the risk of a heart attack, by helping to reduce risk factors like obesity, high blood cholesterol and high blood pressure;

Improve mental wellbeing, by helping to reduce feelings of anxiety and depression, promoting self-esteem and reducing stress;

Build strength, especially in back and legs.

So in cities, for small works or for a short travel use of cars should be avoided by the citizens. When it comes to educational purpose i.e for schools and colleges, students should use bicycle instead of using bikes and cars. By using bicycles, countries suffering from a problem of having fuel shortage will be solved. In some countries, people have already adopted this cycling system before, but still there are many a places or cities where bicycle must be used.

So now the generation must decide that whether to use bicycle or bikes, cars etc.
